SpaceBabe sketch

Nothing beats a ballpoint pen

and some colored pencil to start!

02

Photoshop and Illustrator

Redefined some features in Photoshop by blending and painting. Went into Illustrator as well to create gradients and shapes for the helmet.

Background Repeat Inspo

Drew inspo from this collab I did back in an early college art class at community collage. Also used an existing space fabric to do some surface mapping in Photoshop, just like I used to do in 3DS Max to wrap a texture around an object.

4 images to create

The brightness between the 2 figures in 3 spots was to show the contradictory fact that their connected but there is space between them.

05

Direct to Fabric Printing

Before printing, it is necessary to create the repeat to fill the artboard that should be the same dimensions as the printer chosen.

There is also access to Dye Sublimation at the RDC, which honestly I wish I chose that instead for this design because there were too many colors in the background it bled together. Very grateful to have the privilege to print my design on fabric at school!

06

Reflect and Refract

Honestly, I'm glad I waited to create with this fabric until grudge was back in style

so it looks intentional finally!

Moral of the story, if the colors in the artboard aren't simplified to 5 or at least less than 10, it's probably a good idea to print using dye sublimation rather than direct to fabric.
